THE ROLE
We're looking for a confident, personable, and customer-focused Part-Time Sales Associate to join the team on a part-time basis primarily on weekends and some support through the week. This role is perfect for someone who genuinely enjoys meeting people, building relationships, and creating positive experiences.
As a key representative of the Knees Up brand, you'll engage with customers, visitors, and the local community, helping to raise awareness of everything we offer while driving revenue through excellent customer service and proactive sales. You'll be an ambassador for our values, ensuring every interaction reflects the energy, warmth, and community spirit that makes Knees Up unique.
ROLES + RESPONSIBILITIES
- Community Engagement: Engaging with customers of the shop as soon as they enter, coming out from behind the till and making yourself available for any questions they may have. As a community-driven space it is integral that we make customers feel welcome and looked after. We are people first and sales second. That means we drive sales by being communicative and engaged with our customers, which helps create a welcoming community around KU. Customers are more likely to spend when they know the staff aren't pushing them to do so and once a relationship has been established they are likely to shop again.
- Selling: A primary objective is to sell products to customers. Our ethos is to do this by presenting all the options available to a customer and guide them in a way that means they are making an informed decision, rather than a rash one that could lead to a return.
- Product Knowledge: Delivering insight on the products on display and being able to tell the brand stories, offering well-informed friendly guidance. Helping the customer choosing the right product for them starts with listening to their needs and asking questions and is followed by talking through the different technical specifications and options available to them, making no pre-conceptions of what they may or may not be interested in.
- Stock Organisation: You are responsible for keeping the shop well maintained, replenishing sold items and making sure the rails and garments are as presentable as they can be.
- Team Communicator: You will be expected to relay any notes or notable customer queries to the wider retail team and make sure that any outstanding tasks are handed over properly.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Has 1-2 years retail experience.
- Passionate about fashion and sportwear.
- Experience using Shopify and Shopify POS.
- Is a runner and understands the needs and wants of someone who runs regularly.
